Your roster
Clients in the sidebar opens /coach/clients: one row per company you coach, newest first, except that anything needing attention is lifted to the top. Each row carries the company name, the engagement status, how many people are in the company, how many KPIs exist and how many of those are focus KPIs, a warning when numbers have gone stale, and the date of the last meeting held in Catipult.
A row tagged via your link arrived through your plan link rather than being added by hand. On the right of each row, the dropdown changes the status and Remove takes the company off your roster — removing an engagement does not touch the company or its data, only your link to it.
Who needs attention
Above the list is a short digest: a headline such as “6 clients · 2 need attention”, then one line per client that is worth a follow-up. It is derived from the rows already on screen, so it costs nothing and cannot invent a client or a number.
Each client contributes at most one line — its most urgent one — and the lines are ordered by how much they matter:
- 1
Has not signed up yet
You added an email address and nobody has created an account with it. The invite is waiting; nothing else about them can be true yet.
- 2
Has no plan yet
The company exists and has signed in, but no KPIs have been created.
- 3
Nothing has been measured yet
A plan exists and not one KPI has a current value. This sits above “off track” deliberately: a plan nobody has put a number against is a different conversation from one that is going badly.
- 4
Numbers off track
Reported as “3 of 8 numbers off track” — of the KPIs that have a number, how many are less than halfway to target.
- 5
Numbers not updated recently
At least one KPI has had nothing change on it for 30 days.
- 6
No meeting
Either no meeting has ever been held in Catipult, or the last one was 30 or more days ago.
Adding a client
Add client offers up to two ways in, and which you see depends on what your account is allowed to do — the server decides, so if you do not see the company search, it is not available to you.
- 1
By company name
Start typing and pick the company. Company names are not unique in this data, so each match shows how many people are in it and when it started — that is what lets you tell two identically-named companies apart before binding to one.
- 2
By email address
Enter the address the person uses in Catipult. Before anything is saved you are told whether that address matched an existing account, and whether another coach already has them.
- 3
Set the starting status
A new engagement starts as prospect or active. You can change it at any time from the roster.
If the address has no account yet, the row sits on your roster as Awaiting signup. When somebody does sign up with it, the roster links the company to your engagement by itself the next time you open the page — you do not need to add them again.
Your plan link
Copy plan link on the roster gives you your own address, in the form catipult.ai/plan/your-name. Anyone who opens it goes straight into the free scorecard builder, and the plan they build is attributed to you: the company lands on your roster already, tagged via your link, with no work from you.
It is the right thing to put in a newsletter, a proposal, a talk or an email signature. There is nothing to configure and the link does not expire.
Statuses
The status is yours to set and it changes what the product does with the row.
| Status | What it does |
|---|---|
| prospect | Counted as a client and included in the digest. The starting state for someone you are still winning. |
| active | Counted and included in the digest. |
| paused | Still counted, still openable, but left out of the digest so it stops asking you for attention. |
| ended | Left out of the digest and out of the client count, and the client’s detail page no longer opens. Use Remove instead if you want the row gone altogether. |
Inside a client
Clicking a company name opens its detail page. Four things are on it:
- 1
Their KPIs
Focus KPIs first, then whichever changed most recently. Each line shows the current value, the target, the unit and when it last changed, with focus and stale markers where they apply. Click a KPI to expand its history.
- 2
Meetings
The last ten meetings held in Catipult for that company, with the status of each. A company that meets with you over a call elsewhere will show nothing here, and that is not a sign of trouble.
- 3
Your notes
Private to you. Write a general note, or press Note on a KPI first to attach the note to that number — useful when you want the reason a figure moved sitting next to the figure.
- 4
Ask about this client
Opens your AI chat already pointed at that company, so a question like “what should we work on first?” is answered about them rather than in general. The server re-checks that they are your client.
What each number means
These are the exact definitions, because “stale” and “off track” are the kind of words that cost a coach an awkward conversation if they are guessed at.
| On screen | Exactly what it counts |
|---|---|
| members | People in the company, excluding anyone removed and excluding the product’s own assistants. |
| KPIs | Live KPIs in the company. Simulated ones — the what-if copies used for modelling — are never counted. |
| focus | KPIs marked as focus for the current period. |
| measured | KPIs that have a current value — somebody has put a number against them at least once. |
| off track | Of the measured KPIs, those less than halfway to target — and it respects the direction of the KPI, so a number that is supposed to come down counts as off track when it is going up. |
| stale | Nothing on the KPI has changed for 30 days. Any edit counts as a change, not only a new reading, so a KPI someone renamed yesterday is not stale. |
| last meeting | The most recent meeting that was run inside Catipult and finished. A dash means there has not been one — it does not mean you have not spoken. |
What you cannot do
You cannot sign in as a client. It is the most common request we get and the answer today is no. Catipult has a view-as mode, but it is built for an administrator looking at a colleague inside their own company, and coaching a company is not the same as being a member of it. There is no coach version of it yet.
What to do instead, in order of usefulness:
- 1
Use the client detail page
It carries the numbers you would go looking for anyway — every KPI, its history, and what moved recently.
- 2
Ask the assistant about them
Ask about this client answers from their actual plan, which is faster than reading it.
- 3
Walk through it on a call
Have them share their screen, or run the meeting inside Catipult — then the scorecard is on screen for both of you and the meeting is recorded against the company.
- 4
Learn the screens in your own company
If what you want is to know what a client sees, the reliable way is to run your own company in Catipult. See below.
Your own company
Catipult is two apps behind one sign-in. /coach is the coach portal — the sidebar you are used to. /dashboard is the company app, and it is what your clients use. The same login can be both: a coach, and a member of their own company.
So you can run your own practice in Catipult exactly the way a client runs theirs — drivers, KPIs, action items, weekly meetings — and it is the best training there is, because every screen you learn is a screen your client is looking at.
- 1
Open the company app
Go to
/dashboard. If your company was set up for you, your plan is already there. - 2
Build a plan if you have not got one
Your own plan link works on you: open it and build your practice’s scorecard the way a client would.
- 3
Add yourself to your own roster
Add your company as a client like any other. It then shows up on the coach side too, so you can see what your roster looks like with real numbers in it.
Open your roster
The digest at the top is the fastest read of where your clients are. If it is empty, start with your plan link.
