    Using Catipult day to day

A plain walkthrough of the screens your company works in, and the one habit that makes the rest of it worth having.

    What this is for

Catipult holds one thing: the plan your company is actually running, and whether it is working. Four words cover nearly everything on the screens:

    1. 1

      Business drivers

The handful of areas your results come from — customers, people, cash, delivery. Everything else hangs off them.

    2. 2

      KPIs

The numbers that tell you how a driver is doing, each with a target and a real current value. A few that get updated beat forty that do not.

    3. 3

      Action items

The work that is supposed to move a KPI, owned by a person with a date. Not a task list of everything — the work that changes a number.

    4. 4

      Meetings

The rhythm. A short regular meeting where the numbers are read and the owners say what moved.

TipIf you only ever do one thing in Catipult, make it this: put the real number against each focus KPI once a week. Every screen below gets more useful the moment that happens, and none of them work without it.

    Home

/dashboard is where you land. It opens on the view that matches your role, and you can switch between the three at the top at any time — the one you pick wins from then on.

    ViewWhat it shows
ExecutiveStrategy — the KPIs and what is blocking them. The read for whoever owns the plan.
ManagerExecution coordination — action items across every driver, so you can see where work has stopped.
OperatorExecution — your own task queue, and nothing else.

Whichever view you are in, the sections read the same way: driver health first, then the KPIs underneath each driver, then the action items that need attention. A KPI with no number shows as having no number — it is not drawn as zero, because those are very different things.

    Putting a number in

There are two ways, and the second is the one that sticks.

    1. 1

      On the KPI itself

Open a KPI from Home or the Scorecard and fill in Actual — that is the current value. The same form holds the target, the unit, the owner, how often it is meant to be reported, and which driver it belongs to.

    2. 2

      During a meeting

A meeting running in Catipult has a KPI review step: every KPI is listed with a box next to it, you type the number and press Enter. This is the habit worth building — the numbers get updated because the meeting makes them get updated.

Each KPI knows which direction is good, so a number that is supposed to fall is judged on falling. Mark the few that matter this quarter as focus — the dashboards and your coach’s view both lead with those.

Heads upA KPI nothing has changed on for 30 days is flagged as stale, and if you have a coach they see that flag too. It is not a telling-off — it is there so a number nobody owns gets noticed before the quarter ends.

    Scorecard

/scorecard is the people-and-delivery read rather than the strategy one. It shows a row per team member with their on-time percentage and current workload, and you can click people to filter the rest of the page to them.

Alongside it are two lists: Tasks currently active, and Issues that have been raised. Both expand to full screen when there are too many to read in the panel.

    Meetings

/meetings lists your meetings, filterable by type, by person and by whether they are archived. A meeting held in Catipult walks a fixed shape — review the numbers, set what you are aiming at, agree the actions — and what you enter during it is saved against the company, so the next meeting starts from where the last one finished.

NoteMeetings you hold elsewhere are fine; they just leave no trace here. If your coach mentions that your last meeting shows as a dash, this is why — it means the last one was not run inside Catipult, not that it did not happen.

    Organization

/organization has two tabs. Org chart is your structure — roles, who reports to whom, and who holds each seat; clicking a person opens their detail, which is also where an administrator invites them to sign in. Team statistics is the aggregate read across the company.

It is worth keeping the chart honest even when it is uncomfortable: an empty seat on the chart is how Catipult knows a role is unfilled rather than assuming somebody is quietly doing two jobs.

    The assistant

The assistant — AIDA, unless your coach has given it their own name — answers questions about your own plan: what is off track, what a driver depends on, what last quarter looked like. It reads your KPIs, drivers and action items, so the answers are about your company rather than business in general.

NoteIt answers and explains; it does not create or edit your plan from the chat. Changes are made on the screens, deliberately, so nothing in your scorecard moves because of a sentence someone typed.

    Getting help

The ? button in the top bar carries four things:

    • App tour — a walkthrough of whichever page you are on, where one exists.
    • Guides — this page and the rest of them.
    • What’s new — what changed in the product recently.
    • Feature request — goes to the people who build it. Short and specific beats long and polite.

If you do not have a coach and want one, the same menu has Connect to a coach. For anything else, email info@catipult.ai.
